to hear every Democrat in Congress shouting from the rooftops. The votes exist in Congress (believe it or not, there are a few sane Republicans) to pass a clean Continuing Resolution which fully funds the government.
But the Ohio Tearduct knows that if he allows that to come to a vote, the teabaggers will pitch a fit and attempt to remove him as Speaker. So he would prefer to fuck up the economy and take food off of the table of tens of thousands of Americans. First things first, right Johnny? Because God forbid that if you were no longer Speaker you might have to pay for two, or maybe even three of those martinis that comprise your five martini lunches.
