.J. Gentle, a political independent who owns a large furniture business in Chattanooga, Tenn., and has voted for Obama and Republican Sen. Bob Corker, said the change in the Republican Party is a turn-off to many business-minded folks.

“I think what’s happened over time is that the voice of the fringes of the Republican Party has sort of taken over that business friendly doctrine that the Republican Party was traditionally associated with,” he said.

Ronald Weinberg, an investor involved in GOP causes in Ohio who is on the Chamber board, said Republicans and business generally continue to agree on substance, but disagree on strategy.

“I think there is a dichotomy of thinking in the Republican Party,” Weinberg said, “and my own view of it is to be more of a pragmatist toward problem-solving, and everybody has to engage in some kind of compromise.”

it's dawning on increasing numbers of Independents and Republicans, that the Republican Party has basically gone insane.

It's about time business wakes up and looks at the numbers.
The GOP is entirely full of shit.

People would've buying clothes, furniture, going to movies ( at $10 bucks a ticket it's too expensive) going out to dinner etc. but NO the GOP will not even consider a jobs program while lying and saying they are all about jobs. Their policies today have put in jeopardy 800,000+ jobs and the ripple effect will not be good.

Today going to work I overheard 2 tourists complaining that their Alcatraz trip was cancelled. I said "thank republicans for that". They looked at me and smiled.

making sure wages and benefits would never be indexed to inflation.

Once they got power, it drove them completely crazy.

Crazy benefits no one. Corporate America needs to pull the plug.
