Savannah Guthrie, with all due respect, please go fuck yourself.

She's running Stretch's gig this week and is even worse than Stretch.

As but one example: Ron Paul's stupid kid was on saying the House was giving "clean CRs" that the White House is refusing to sign. When she does a tepid attempt to call him on his obvious lie, he speaks over her and says they have given clean CRs for NIH, for this, for that. She calls him out again. He speaks oevr her again. She lets it go. When you hear the exchange, it is obvious that Paul's lies were what would be heard and were what one could use for sound bites.

This tactic lets the liars get their lies out while the tepid press by the complicit media gives them cover to say they tried to ask about the lie. Meanwhile, the LowInfos get only the lie.

Yes, Ms. Guthrie, please go fuck yourself. You arer part of the problem with your gross incompetence. Your moral malpractice.

Who is Savannah Guthrie? Who is Stretch? What is this gig?

I shouldn't have to point out that not everyone watches or reads or listens to exactly the same things you do, so a little context would be good.

Unless you have Asperger's, because Aspies often start right out with something completely without context, and so if that's the case I apologize for not being more understanding.

that reminds me of a person with a certain kind of neurological deficit. I'm sure he couldn't help it.

Keep in mind, that a whole lot of others after me also had no idea who he was talking about. Those who have any sense of their audience will generally let them know what they're talking about.

It is beyond irritating when a poster just jumps into something, blithely assuming that every reader is watching exactly the same show, knows exactly what the relatively obscure references are, and then gets insulted when called on it.

Okay, so even though this was a lot like someone with Asperger's -- and keep in mind I have a son who is an Aspie so I really do know what I'm talking about -- maybe I did cross a line by suggesting he is also one.

But he needs to work on certain basic writing skills, like starting out by giving a clue or two as what exactly he's talking about.

Complaining does no good. The disinformation and ignorance is going on and it is unchallenged.

Not watching the nonsense is good. Get your news from places like Pacifica Radio or newspapers that carry people like Krugman or blogs online.

Yes. I think we should abandon the corporate media.

The corporate media exists for two reasons: 1) to propagandize people to their warped points of vies and 2) to sell products that most of us don't need or can't afford.

Those are the real reasons that the corporate media exists. Until that changes, I watch only the ad-free snippets of their programs that are shown on DU.

Some programs on MSNBC, Bill Maher and Bill Moyers are the only exceptions. I don't miss the rest of the stuff at all.

Savannah Guthrie subjected Senator Rand Paul to a series of tough questions about the government shutdown on Sunday's "Meet the Press."

I thought she did a fine job. She didn't just let him off.....she asked twice, eliciting the same totally obvious non answer each time. To go further would have wasted valuable parts of the little time she had to interview him. Plus, to push more, she would have risked looking like she were "mugging" him, and may have helped his cause. In a show like this, it is a tough tight rope to walk for the moderator. It's a complicated situation.
