How's this for a scenario: Dennis Kucinich loses next week's primary to Rep. Marcy Kaptur, but then decides to take another shot in another state.

Say, Washington, where he was openly putting out feelers last year.

The filing deadline there isn't until May 18, so he'd have plenty of time.

Marcy Kaptur BIO

Marcia Carolyn "Marcy" Kaptur (born June 17, 1946) is the U.S. Representative for Ohio's 9th congressional district, serving since 1983. She is a member of the Democratic Party. The district, anchored by the city of Toledo, includes all of Ottawa and Erie counties, and part of Lucas and Lorain counties.

Serving her fourteenth term in the House of Representatives, Kaptur is the most senior member of Ohio's congressional delegation, and is the longest-serving woman in the House, and the second longest-serving ever after Edith Rogers; in the Congress, she is currently tied for the third longest-serving woman with Senator Barbara Boxer, behind Senators Barbara Mikulski and Olympia Snowe. She ranks 25th out of 435 members in seniority and serves on the powerful House Appropriations Committee.

Kucinich is nothing but an empty suit who "served" our district as poorly as he did when he was Mayor of our fine city. Finally, we can enjoy competent congressional representation.

You will see how the entire northern tier was disenfranchised by this all in a Party-approved effort to remove Kucinich (like they removed Dean).

that become too vocal in some eyes. Kaptur is good too and it's too bad good people have to square off against each other, especially as the radical right becomes over-represented in redistricting. There is no victory in that unless one likes conservatives.

across the nation with redistricting. We lost a great progressive liberal, Brad Miller, here in North Carolina as redistricting pitted him against David Price and Brad bowed out from running for re-election. The road ahead to return to a democratic representative government is going to be a long hard slog if we are even going to be successful. There are no quick fixes ahead.
