The General Election

Four years ago, I couldn't imagine the Republican Party embarrassing itself any more than it did with the nomination of old man, warmonger McCain and his idiot sidekick Palin. But I'm starting to believe that this year is going to be an even more epic fail. Between the non-stop Romney/Santorum gaffs, their tepid rebukes of woman hater Limpballs and the party's general attacks on women and all things related to their private parts, the situation is truly surreal. Whoever their nominee is, watching the slaughter that Obama will unleash on him is going to be almost sad. The morons did this to themselves, but watching the take-down will nonetheless be somewhat disturbing. I also don't like to watch violent movies, even when the good guys win.

1. K & R. In addition, I think the modern Republicans have five problems from what I can see:

1. None of them is named "Bush" (quick: name the last winning Republican that didn't have a Bewsh or Nixon on the ticket!).
2. They refuse to learn from mistakes or even admit error.
3. They want this to be the "Greed is Good" Reagan 1980s (when they peaked, IMHO)
4. They think strapped-for-decades people are still buying their praise-the-RICH Reaganomics snake oil.
5. There's no way any of these hyper-theo-fascists can be sold as a moderate like Bewsh somehow was.

3. Yep, I think this is the political demise, or I hope it is, or the "modern" Republican Party.

And it's from the type of people who actually LIKE Santorum. If Santorum gets the nomination Obama will still likely (tho not certainly) win, but it will NOT be a landslide.

In fact, the seething hatred of Obama is so deep and so widespread, it will be a close race no matter who gets the nomination.

Asking the Republican base to pick between Obama, Santorum, or Romney is like asking them to pick between death by cancer, a skin rash, or a runny nose. Nobody likes rashes or nasal congestion (just as nobody likes Romney, and many are repulsed by Santorum), but put in perspective with terminal cancer, it's a very no-brainer choice.

Remember, they repeatedly say in exit polls the #1 problem facing the nation is getting Obama out of office.

There are people who hate President Obama. Of that there is no doubt. Their political power, however, is not as widespread as you appear to think.

Stay away from the road near that landslide. That's my advice.

The rightwing crazies hate ALL Democrats. Remember how they despised both Clintons? Independents are the key and they're moving toward Obama.
