or long-term part-timers are on vacation/holiday. The sleezy capitalists are playing both ends against the middle and hoping to make even bigger profits by paying regular (or lower) wages to part timers rather than giving overtime to full time employees. People are having to find work wherever they can these days, and the big box stores are taking advantage of the those who need extra hours. Please don't hold disrespect for the folks who are working on holidays--it's not an us/them battle. Don't make an it an issue with the workers. It's the owners who have set the stage and are the biggest players in this game. Those who are working are desperate for the income. I know many of them. They are high school students who are trying to help support their family, single mothers who need to pay for expenses for their children, seniors who have no other source of income. We need to start pressing for a fair, living wage for all.
