* Somehow, we have Republicans of all people, I guess, angry and worried about the ObamaCare website, mad it isn't working, and wanting, I guess, for it to work better. (?) Does it also mean they are truly concerned about these cancelled plans and have suddenly grown a healthcare heart?
* If he had just said, "95% will have very little or no change. Some of the 5% in the individual market will have some change but will get subsidies and better coverage rather than the crappy non-insurance "insurance" they have now, and everyone without insurance will get Medicaid or a subsidized private plan. Others can keep the plan they purchase before the law is enacted. New plans will have to meet more requirements so they will be real insurance and not crap that will chuck you off as soon as you need to use it anyway after you have paid crazily high co-pays and deductables."
* Why the hell is everyone mad at the ACA when insurance companies refused to only slightly update plans to meet the grandfather clause?
* Why the hell is no one talking about the cancelled people who qualify for better subsidized plans?
* Why the hell is no one talking about how insurance companies could have brought new plans into compliance but didn't?
* Why the hell is no one talking about the fact that the idea is to get EVERYONE in the system which will bring down premiums for everyone over time?
* Why the hell is no one taking those RePUKES to task who are refusing to enact Medicaid Expansion and state level exchanges?
(Like my EVIL BASTARD TEABAGGER Governor in Maine.)
* Why the hell are so many people panicking about a website that is being fixed and WILL be fixed?
* Why the hell is no one talking about the MESS and EXPENSE of Medicare-D, its donut hole, and glitch-filled rollout?
* What we can all learn here, above all, is that NONE of this shit would be happening if our too-corrupt government would un-corrupt itself, join the rest of the civilized world, enact MEDICARE FOR ALL, and tell the insurance racketeers to go screw themselves.

(43 posts)We're always told that universal health care would lead to:
A. Deficit spending spiraling out of control.
B. "Death Panels"
C. Loss of choices in health care.
D. and so on... blah blah blah
I always like shaking up my right-wing acquaintances by telling them that Germans, French, Canadians, the UK, and a host of other countries must all be smarter than we are because somehow they were able to provide universal coverage without destroying themselves!

(43 posts)Is a retired nurse who worked for over 35 years in healthcare and has voted straight republican party ticket her entire life - even she agrees that ACA is a "good first step" to a long overdue system of universal coverage in this country. Now if I could just bring her around on a few other issues!
