Continued Casualties Of War. War Vets In Crisis.

Now that austerity has kicked in war veterans face a bleak future. High unemployment, trauma and continued suicide is now the normal order of the day. Based on an article on Crooks And Liars since 2000 there have been 6000 traumatic amputations. Add to that over 1 million vets have one mental disorder with half having two or more mental disorders. No wonder we have 22 suicides a day and 63,000 vets homeless at any one time.

And what do they have for jobs. Walmart, Krispy Kreme Donuts and the like. Wages too low to feed themselves much less a family.

The casualties of war will continue for more than a generation now just as they did after Vietnam. And this debacle will continue well into retirement age for many. Even when the war is over its effects are never over.

we Americans move forward from War Crimes.

This is the reality of the 'glorious war' sold to the American public with lies and PR, PR bought for a price of approx $300,000, 000 paid to a PR firm, The Rendon Group, how cynical can we get in this country, to 'sell the War in Iraq' to the American people. They are proud of their work and were well paid for the propaganda.

Now that the reality has come home to roost, I haven't seen too many 'Support the Troops' bumper stickers.

I wish go back in time and find the Right Wingers I was arguing with against that horrible invasion. They told me I was against the troops. I told them I wanted to see how much they would be doing for the troops after the reality began to sink in after they returned, either in coffins or badly wounded, maimed for life. I made a bet that not one of those cheering for the PR photos and waving their flags and yellow ribbons, (all gone now) would be found helping them or even visiting them in their hospital beds, or helping to find them homes when they ended up homeless.

I would like to find them now and ask 'what are you doing the homeless and wounded troops these days'? We all know the answer to that.
