Alternative Medicine, aka If the ACA is so bad, why don't the Repubs propose a third option?

Republicans and even many Democrats insist that true government healthcare cannot work here, even though statistics show that people in other developed countries are living longer despite spending less on healthcare. Without that option available to us, the Democrats decided to pass a complicated series of regulations and subsidies to accomplish the same goal: make sure that everyone can access medicine when they need it, which is before they are so desperately ill they must visit the ER. If this too is unacceptable, it seems the only alternative is to continue as we have in America, to go back to "business as usual."

Of course business as usual means minimal care for poor people. It means lots of those uninsured people racking up debts to hospitals that will never be paid, driving personal bankruptcy and stretching hospital budgets. And it means insurance companies hoarding epic levels of profit. This is an unacceptable situation to many poor people, who like it or not have the power to vote just like anyone else.

As the economy continues to stagnate, more and more people find themselves impoverished. Many poor people are bright enough and educated enough to see they are getting shafted, that in such a wealthy country life need to be so brutal. So, they are going to vote for whoever brings them health coverage. Thus the status quo cannot continue, so what is the third alternative to the ACA or the path taken by other wealthy countries?

PS: I know I'm preaching to the choir here, ya'll see as plain as I do that the answer is there is no alternative, which is why none has been proposed. I guess I just really needed to vent that!
