The ACA alowed employers (large corporations) to provide the minimum essential coverage for employees. Now, a lot of people like me have lousy, expensive insurance, with little to no coverage The ACA is well intended, but a disaster.

(5,526 posts)No co-pays for anything up to 4K. Everything else is now on me. Including meds. Also higher premiums. The reason given by my employer? "The ACA only requires them to provide the minimum essential coverage".

(5,417 posts)Your employer pays for a bit of your insurance. It is also pre tax.
Healthcare on the exchange is post tax and not subsidized if you have employer coverage available.

(344 posts)then you would be eligible for a subsidy. if your share of the premiums cost more than 9.5 percent of your household income then it is not affordable and you could shop and get a subsidy.
