CMS Administrator Marilyn Tavenner in one of her Hill appearances singled out CGI Federal as the only HealthCare.gov contractor that failed to meet expectations. She said it had some issues with timely delivery. Another CMS official at a separate hearing faulted the companys work on a shopping feature on the website that caused both political and technical problems.

(15 posts)I favor single payer. I think the ACA should have been a one page bill that gave everyone the option (but not a mandate) to sign up for Medicaid. That would have been simple and easy to understand, would not have required any new government bureaucracies, and probably would have had the support of a lot of moderate Republicans. People who wanted to keep their private plans would have been able to keep them, so no reasonable person would have had any reason to object to it.

(5,526 posts)Also, the "no bid" contract is worrisome (reminds me of Halliburton during the Bush reign of error). From what I hear, CGI is top heavy with Vice Presidents.
