Texas DUers, please help debunk this...

I have been forwarded this video by right-wing friends. It's making the rounds in the right-wing blogosphere...

I have asked the question of my friends which they think is more likely:

1. A self-avowed welfare queen listens to conservative talk radio, decides to call in to gloat, brags about her drug usage which could get her welfare cancelled, then mid-way through her talking about how good she has it (on $195 a month) she *for some reason actually advocates getting rid of food stamps and welfare* before being brought back on script by the hosts.

2. She's an actor?

Anyone in the Austin area or anyone in general who could help me debunk this would be appreciated.

I realize right wingers are in general idiots, and that Texas has more than its share of stupid right wingers, way more than its share. They ain't that dumb.

Anyone who can shed light on particulars would be helpful.

Never had to think of any answers, sounds like this is from a prepared script. It plays right into the RW thinking. I wonder if this show would interview Romney about the $44M tax payers had to cover on a pension fund of a company he took over.

10. People believe what they want, no matter the facts.

Some here in Texas believe there is no racism in flying or displaying the confederate flag. Some here, maybe many, believe the President was born in Kenya.

People will believe what fits their political world view, no matter what facts you put in front of their face.

The "welfare queen" meme has been around for decades and many here in Texas likely believe that most people that get some sort of govt assistance are lazy, drug addicted "takers".

What I wouldn't give to live in a blue state or even a blue area of a purple state!!!

a job if your unemployed and getting benefits. You have to report to one of the workforce offices once a week and show progress. Also if you don't find a job they will make you do some sort of community service work.

13. Welfare is limited

Welfare is only allowed for a few years and it doesn't pay your utilities. After your time is expired for welfare payments then you no longer receive them. I don't know how long you can stay on it in Texas, but in my state it is 5 years and you must go to school or be working towards employment. She didn't say anything about being disabled so you can safely say that she is only welfare and her time on it is limited.
She also claims she has an obamaphone, but the phone she is talking on is a landline phone. Here food stamps is too low for a house of five people, it would be in the $600+ range for that many people.

I've worked with people on general welfare and none of them have ever bragged to me how great it is, but for the most part they complained about how small their check is.

If any one wants to see the real people on welfare go to a food bank and they will share their stories of how hard their life is.

Another thing she had wrong is that the government through pell grants will pay for your college job training or have a vocational program so you can get job training.

The biggest give away that this was staged is that she acted like she had been on it for years, but general welfare is limited in all states.
