If you use their information site, you can put your income in and they'll tell you up front what the policy costs are. Then, they list them down the same page in the same format, from cheapest to highest. Get the middle: Look for the $1000 deductable at hte cheapest price. You owe it to yourself.

Be taken care of- You deserve it.

son's friends. We live in a state that does not have the exchange. He called an ins. agent to get a quote and the gave him a price, without the subsidy. When he came to visit over T-day weekend, we got to talking about Obamacare and why he hated it. The agent told him he would have to pay almost 200 a month. A substantial amount for a kid who earns 8$ an hour. He was upset that almost a weeks pay was mandated for health insurance. I pulled out my laptop pulled up the federal exchange for him. Showed him how the subsidies worked. Then found a navigator in his area. He had his appt this morning. He chose a plan for about 35$ a month, after his subsidy. He is ecstatic.

Without a state exchange, citizens are having a harder time getting ins. It also leaves them vulnerable to people like the ins agent he dealt with.

He still would prefer single payer.

rate. Obama really got it in under the wire: Hopefully, with 3 years to go before the next presidential election, so many people will be on it they'll never try to repeal it.

That election will be interesting: I wonder if the GOP candidates will bring it up at all.

Glad he's covered, thanks to you!

and does not expect his rate to stay the same. He is aware that as he gets older and his income increases, his rate will go up. He does expect to always have health insurance and to always have it affordable.

In a state that has the expanded MC, he would have been insured for free. He is ok with $35 Even though it cuts into his budget some. But that is how, the GOP is fucking with the ACA numbers, via no state exchange.

Like I said, he called a company and they quoted him full price, without the subsidy so he thought that was what he would have to pay. He was willing to pay the penalty so he could eat. Then they have their constituents afraid to go onto the federal exchange, because of their lies being reported as (f)actual news. Not to mention the drumming up of the Obama hate and not signing up out of spite.
