These people worship him because he slaughtered an unarmed black kid for no reason and got away with it.

Much of America is demonstrably insane. Evil and insane.
What happened to us? Geez.

4. No question there are many sick, hateful people out there. I try to focus on the ones who are not.

It just seems like there is so much working against President Obama...all the hate...there is so much hate for him that it has spilled over into everyday lives. It is so bitter out there...traffic, shopping, school meetings, church meetings...more uncivil than I can remember and eventually all conversations have at least one person complaining about the socialist, muslim occupying the WH. It is so really sad. People can't even focus on the poor folks desperately need help. Cutoff of unemployment and reduction in food stamps is really going to hurt us all. And the sad part of it is I really think the GOP in Congress vote to cut these things just to make more people angry at the President.

6. I wouldn't feel to bad. John Wayne Gacy's art is still worth a lot more than Zimmerman's.

Of course he did kill a hell of a lot more people. So that makes it ok.

His paintings are bought as a kind of black humor, specifically because he was so horrific.

BTW: a goth paraphernalia store near my work used to sell real Gacy paintings. Most of them were of himself as a clown and Disney's 7 dwarves.

Regardless of how one feels about the verdict, its hard to really see Zimmerman as a hero. Most of the actual legal scholars that I have read that think he was innocent of murder still admit that he overreacted to situation and should have handled matters much differently. Honestly I really don't know what to think of the case. The case has become so politicized that it is really hard to find objective abstract views of the case. I definitely think he would lose in civil court. If is true that Martin told Zimmerman that he was going to "die tonight," proceeded to bash Zimmerman's head on the concrete and then tried to grab Zimmerman's gun. Then I really can't see a charge of murder or even manslaughter. Is this how it actually happened, I have no clue and the witnesses were to far away to either confirm or deny it. Unfortunately we are left only with Zimmerman's version of events. I do, however, think that much of what Zimmerman did provoked this encounter. This is why I think he would be found guilty in a civil court. This being said criminal courts don't really determine what is right or wrong, only what is illegal. Under Florida law, if Zimmerman's account is to be believed I really don't see how it would have been possible for him to be convicted of 2nd degree murder or even manslaughter. Even if a jury convicted him he would have won on appeal.

But as far as Gacy is concerned, it's hard to reap the benefits of money earned while behind bars, isn't it? The profits would go to the sellers, not the artist. Whereas with Zim, the profits go to a murderer who got away with it.
