I went to a Humana office and we went on the exchange site to compare plans. After the subsidy was applied, I got a plan which cost me $2.93 a month. No dental and no eyeglasses, but most other things are included. Whew!
I have been working temp jobs off and on the past few years. It has been very hard for me to find work. I was in a car accident eight years ago and suffered injuries which hurt to this day. At the time I did not have insurance and so didn't go to the hospital. I couldn't have afforded the bill.
Now that I do have insurance, it is such a load off my mind. I don't have to be afraid anymore.
Thank you Mr. President and our Dems in Congress.

Have you noticed they're not calling it Obamacare but ACA now. They don't want people to associate it with him anymore.

Ms. Toad
(34,074 posts)When you are eligible for subsidies, you are also eligible for reduced cost sharing (deductible and co-insurance/copays and a reduced cap on out of pocket max).
I obviously don't know the precise plan, but many people are unaware of the additional subsidies

(6 posts)I have been unemployed now for 6 weeks. But because I live in the great state of Texas, my premium would be $339. Healthcare.gov told me I wouldn't be penalized for not having insurance but they can't help me.

(37,428 posts)...but is less important, maybe, for people like the OP. Zero insurance does equate to nearly no health care, for most of us.
We ought to keep pushing for universal CARE. People with coverage may live long enough to help us get there.

(9,833 posts)That "Obamacare" is a good thing. No wonder the right is now calling it the Affordable Care Act.
