Whoa! Cracker Barrel ditches Duck Dynasty

A restaurant chain based in the south has removed “Duck Dynasty” products in reaction to the bigoted comments from one of the show’s stars.

Cracker Barrel restaurants revealed on Saturday that they had removed “selected products which we were concerned might offend some of our guests.”

In an interview with GQ, Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson compared homosexuality to bestiality and claimed that black Americans in the south were happy while living in segregation.

A&E, the network where Duck Dynasty appears, has suspended Robertson after his comments were widely condemned.

They removed "selected products". DD is the A&E brand line of products.

for exactly the reasons you identified. It would be easy for Macy's to dump Duck wear because their clientele wouldn't associate with that image in the first place. My guess is that a high percentage of C.B. customers are fans of D.D. So this is a bold move. I never would have guessed Cracker Barrel would be among the first to move. Kudos for them.

If there is a C.B. in your area, give it a try. It isn't so bad.

I eat there every once in awhile. They have moved a bit toward more healthy food. Steamed broccoli and backed catfish are stand outs. They have lots of interesting antiques hanging on the walls. I never buy anything from the gift side.

The meat loaf has some fat but very low carbs. A turkey sandwich without mayo is a good choice. They have lots of veggie choices that aren't full of fat. A baked potato is good if you don't overdo the sour cream and butter. But their baked potatoes have a lot of salt.

I'd say anybody on a low sodium diet would have a problem there.
