After a few busy days in GD, we need a mandatory kittie love thread...

The black one is Sonia who we adopted from DUer, Flaxbee, nine years ago, and the other one is Lucy who 11 weeks old and is a stray that our daughter rescued in early November. Lucy is sleeping like she surrendered to the sleep!

2. We've had Sonia for nine years and she has never slept in a cat bed. It used to be

Panda's (not shown), but Lucy usurped it from him, and then Sonia usurped it from Lucy. It's always something silly with cats!

I've yet to get a good picture of Sara. She's camera shy--please ignore the ugly linoleum in our rented home(Photo by me).

8. Wow! Is Emma a Maine Coon? She looks like Truffle who was 20+ lbs Maine Coon.

Truffle is no longer living, but Sara looks just like our Idget who is only a year old now.

12. Nope, no Maine Coon (as far as I know)

Emma's a mix of full-blooded mama Persian and tomcat daddy--same with Sara, they're from the same litter. The family that had the Persian were going to breed her "properly" so didn't want this litter of kittens--their loss, my gain.

She and Sara are beautiful (if not troubled) old ladies. However, I have to wonder if the tomcat had some Maine Coon in him 'cause Emma's a biggin' but Sara is a dainty lady that rules the roost and squeaks when she meows.
