And so this is Christmas...
Yup, I dare say it...Merry Christmas, if that is what you celebrate. Happy Holidays is simply a more inclusive term. Yet, despite the Fox-sponsored "War On Christmas," I hear people saying Merry Christmas everywhere I go. In the supermarket yesterday, the loudspeaker boomed out a message from the manager about some store special, followed by a very cheerful "MERRY CHRISTMAS!" People didn't drop dead in the aisles. I've been listening to both internet and satellite radio, and both are playing a wide mix of traditional old "Jesus" songs and contemporary Christmas AND "holiday" songs...no effort to hide anything, no warring going on. I've seen several "Merry Christmas" billboards, I've received e-cards and regular cards from businesses saying "Merry Christmas."
So where is this so-called "War On Christmas" being waged? Apparently only in the paranoid minds of right wingers who get all their information from Fox News, because out on the battlefields all the troops appear to be home celebrating the holiday.
