Meet this year's Christine O'NotAwitch - where do they find these morons?
---
Maybe the best fix for This Town is to just move it to another town. Case in point, a Republican running for Senate in Nebraska proposed a radical new idea: move the nations capital from Washington, D.C. to Nebraska in order to keep it as far away from the corruptive swamp that D.C. has developed a reputation of being.
In a new ad, Sass says that moving the capital may by the only cure to the incredible ineffectiveness and dysfunction of both parties in Washington, so that they can be closer to the Americans theyre supposed to be fighting for, not to mention they would leave the lobbyists and the influence peddlers back east.

Makes perfect sense to me.

(50,562 posts)Last I checked, lobbyists and influence peddlers have the money to move from DC to Nebraska. Which they would do.
Now let's look at his spurious claim that moving from DC to Nebraska would move them closer to the people they're supposed to be fighting for. I did a little analysis here...the populations of Nebraska and the six states that surround it:
Nebraska: 1.856 million
South Dakota: 833,000
Wyoming: 576,000
Colorado: 5.18 million
Kansas: 2.886 million
Missouri: 6.022 million
Iowa: 3.074 million
Total: 20.427 million.
The population of the states on the east coast is 112.65 million.
Since there are 5.5 people on the East Coast for every one person in those seven states, who should they be fighting harder for?

(966 posts)Small town Nebraska is just great, with kids riding bikes and playing football and going to church on Sunday morning....
BUT, BUT, BUT....
Isn't Nebraska part of America, the once great nation that is now a socialist cesspool thanks to Obama!?!?
What a joke!
