Take This Simple Test To Find Out If You're A Speed Readerby Megan Willet at Business Insider

I read at 385. I answered all three question correctly which is luck because I only knew the answer to one of them. I was definitely pushing it. And considering how much I read I really do not read very well. Of course not. I'm dyslexic.

No speed reading classes for me. I read at 383, and got all 3 correct. I was reasonably sure I was remembering them all.

(2,273 posts)Not how I usually read, I read to relax and enjoy. Reading for me is a visual experience of the mind and blazing through content does not offer that.

(14,275 posts)I am not too sure about that. I think we would need a longer test or more quick tests to confirm our actual reading speed.

(22,000 posts)I know I'm a really slow reader. Comprehension is hard as well. I have a very minor learning disability. It doesn't mean you can't succeed though, it just means it takes a little longer.

(2,419 posts)is THIS. 831 words per minute would allow me to read The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand in 6 hours and 15 minutes! Why in God's name would I want to do that?

(118,694 posts)good business people and scientists. I didn't mean to be putting myself down. I'm glad I have dyslexia and am good at the big picture. I would not trade it for the world.

(9,077 posts)It just means I read fast.

(118,694 posts)I would be no good at putting thing together like I can unless I was dyslexic. The downside is I'm not good at learning when information comes in linear fashion. It has got to be 3D.

(23,156 posts)I've always been a fast reader, which is one reason I do extremely well on standardized tests. More than once I've take a standardized test that you're not supposed to be able to finish, but I've finished it. Makes me appear to have a much higher IQ than I really have, whatever that might be.

(9,289 posts)I took a speed reading class long ago and im still a snail.
