I stand by that and so do the facts... you are correct about macaques... but the are an exception to the rule.

The guys who ride in the back of the truck and lug the cage around. Is it just a job? A sense that what their doing is important? A bit of both?

They have opinions too.

...When the chimp was sitting on top of the crate, and one of the men was stroking the chimps head. Even if you took the job because it was the best job available (as many of us do), how could you not become attached, and feel that you're contributing to a greater good?

It would be interesting to hear what they had to say.

Yeah I thought the same thing as I watched. The brunette woman pushes that one man so she could be in camera frame, seems kind of rude. I think in nearly every documentary or show about Africa I've seen, the Africans are just kind of there as background.

...the euro/americans are there to talk to the camera.

Jane Goodall has done spectacular work, but would there be a TV audience if her replacement (she's 80) was an African man? Would there be the same level of finacial support from Europe and North America?

she turned and started walking away. Funny how she knew she was free and didn't bolt into the trees. She didn't try to run away but felt free and safe in their company. Thanks, very touching video. I wonder how many chimps Goodall actually ended up saving?
