(146,317 posts)Now that the jet stream has looped to the south, Minnesota's getting missed by most of this stuff. I'm sorry it's hitting you. Stay warm and indoors.

(20,043 posts)between the bitter cold and all the snow...uuuggghh.
I usually enjoy winter, but I'm so over this one.
Common Sense Party
(14,139 posts)Ours has been pretty mild. It was cold for a while in December, but it doesn't get bitter here. But we need a lot more snowpack.
I hope things get better for you soon.

(20,043 posts)not the sub zero temps we had earlier this winter. The temps have risen some so we will get some rain today, which will slush some of it and re-freeze with more snow on top of that.
I hope you get some rain soon.

(36,478 posts)We will finally rid ourselves or the huge sheet of ice in our cul-de-sac & my north facing driveway. My truck slips & slides as I drive into the garage.
Someone snapped this in Denver several years ago, after we had several snow storms in a row.
Good luck. Stay warm. Hope your pantry is packed.

(26,219 posts)Just went back to work this week after 5 weeks of recovering from surgery. Didn't have a choice today but to go out and shovel all blasted 16" of it if I ever hope to get my car out before June - and my pectorals are killing me right now. Not looking forward to doing it again in the dead of night tonight.
Did I mention ARGGLE???

(20,043 posts)you weren't well.
Don't kids shovel anymore? No kids around here do it. When I grew up we loved snow cuz we could make money. My brothers, sister, and me would get out there and make a killing.
Don't over do it! Stay warm and safe.

I need to go out and help my neighbor. Waiting on the pain meds to kick in. Good point about the kids though. I should go knock on some doors and suggest that. They can even use my shovel while they make some cash. Thanks for the idea!

(25,183 posts)There's one I'm looking at right now on the back deck, a quarter-pyramid that is almost up to the handle on the sliding screen door. Before this snow, the previous snow is piled up as high as I've ever seen it since I moved here back in 2007, I don't know where they're going to put this snow when it comes time to scoop it off of roads, sidewalks and parking lots.
Can't complain, I have a paid day off, and all utilities are working just fine. If for some reason, they pull the plug on work tomorrow, it will be a five-day weekend, what with Presidents' Day coming on Monday.
