(551 posts)3. As I understand, there is nothing in the law to stop consumers from overestimating their projected
income. This person and others with little income could state a projected income that is just beyond poverty, say $11,500, just enough to surpass the poverty level and qualify the person for heavily subsidized policies. I ran an example in my area and found good coverage for a cost of $28 per month. Could this possibly be a suitable workaround for some people in those states that have heartless, uncaring, imprudent, un-American Republican Governors?
