The Michael Dunn trial . I just don't get his behavior.

I thought Zimmerman was guilty as sin but at least you can make a logical argument that if you're getting beat to death, if in fact you were, you have a right to shoot the guy who is beating you to death.

But what's with the Dunn guy?

He started shooting into a SUV because the occupants were playing their radio too loud.

Really???

That makes no sense at all...

He exhibits NO remorse whatsoever. Granted, I've only seen clips from the trial and haven't watched wall-to-wall coverage. (Is there any?) But he just seems, and sounds like, a complete ass. AND a bigot. There's quite a lot of back-story to him that I've heard in what coverage I have seen - mainly on MSNBC. But I understand the jury wasn't allowed to get any of that information. Seems open-n-shut to me, though. MURDER ONE. And attempted murder - for all the other dudes in that SUV upon whom he fired, and who could well have been hit by his sprays of bullets. They were just lucky, I think, that he didn't shoot them, too.

And then to drive more than - what? A hundred and seventy-some-odd miles (not sure about the exact number) to a hotel, and not mention the gun part to his girlfriend that whole time - anybody know how long it takes to drive 170+ miles?!!! And it didn't come up in conversation once? And then they got to where they were going and he calls - to order pizza??????? Takes his own damn time calling authorities to report the shooting? What a cold-hearted calculating asshole! And how matter-of-factly he said the words "I was afraid for my life." Repeatedly so. Entirely unconvincing, to me, anyway.

And his girlfriend, from the testimony I saw, is STILL traumatized by it. Evidently, unlike him, she has a conscience. Wonder what the hell she sees in a guy like that? She deserves WAY better!

claims he was hurrying home to call. The NEIGHBOR called DUNN, and during that call, which the GF could hear on speakerphone, Dunn never even mentioned the shooting. He clearly thought he had gotten away clear and free-*and if the homeless guy hadn't gotten his plate number, he would have*.

As for why--he had been "dissed" by a person he considered beneath him, which is why he said right before shooting, "You're not going to talk to me that way."

Don't forget what the retired cop said right before shooting the theater texter, "Throw popcorn in my face!"

These macho a****les get enraged when dissed, and if a gun is handy, they express that rage lethally.

first, he never ever would have called the police. He would have lived his life like nothing had happened.

nothing happened. I can hear him now: "Just got rid of another thug. So what's the big deal? I did y'all a favor didn't I?" His entire demeanor, facial expressions, tone of voice, posture, body language - ALL strongly suggested - "so, what's the big deal here?"

I hope he gets the max. This "Stand Your Ground" stuff is just SO incredibly bogus! It has just GOT to go!

That defense works in some right/white wing states. Hopefully, it won't this time.

He doesn't seem to believe himself. His lady friend certainly doesn't. If your lover doesn't believe your story, it's suspect. She has every reason to defend him and she killed his credibility instead.

as I am still devastated over the Zit getting away with killing Trayvon. Even if the facts seems reasonable to convict to most of us, it doesn't mean that justice will be done. So I didn't get invested in this one. The injustice everywhere is getting too overwhelming to me.

7. Actually there is no logical argument even for Zimmerman using his weapon against Treyvon.

I "sort of" understand what you're saying but actually there was no logical argument for Zimmerman to say he feared for his life vs Treyvon. After all, WHO told HIM to play Maverick that night? He wasn't even supposed to be on neighborhood watch there. Treyvon had a right to be walking at that time, carrying Skittles and Ice Tea. It was Zimmerman who perused Treyvon and murdered him, then evoked Stand Your Ground as an EXCUSE. I hate to re-hash that trial all over again, as it ended is a miscarriage of justice. however your analogy is one that Zimmerman used to full effect, and it also helped that the prosecution was for the most past so lousy.

As for the State V Dunn, I'll believe a guilty verdict when I see one. Not this guy isn't a racist Dirty Harry Wannabe who used the Stand Your Ground Law to effect as did Zimmerman saying that he feared for his life, even though HE shot into the car, paused and fired again, then went home to Georgia and ordered pizza never thinking once about what he might have done in that liquor store parking lot. but because @ 52 years old, I've seen too many trials vs African-Americans go the wrong way.

Glad you're here! I know how you feel. I don't see any reason why zimmerman was cleared either. Just sounded like a lot of bullshit from a guy who had such a hard-on to prove how macho and Rambo-esque he was. TOO MANY people are using the Stand Your Ground excuse to play John Wayne and take matters into their own hands. It completely alleviates the "annoying" "nuisance" of having to flee. And this guy wasn't protecting his castle from some home-invasion robbery or assault. He was out in public FAR from home. When he said "I was in fear for my life," he sounded so mechanical, so numb, so flat, so coached! I wasn't one bit convinced. I hope they nail his ass.

I hope he winds up in prison - where he belongs. Clearly he's a menace to all of society, not just the dark-skinned. As a 60-year-old white woman, I would feel fearful for MY life if I spotted him anywhere near me. He's manifestly and demonstrably deviant and confirmed to be dangerous.

14. He shot into the car because someone "disrespected" him
Thu Feb 13, 2014, 06:18 PM

and refused to acquiesce to his demands. He was so enraged that someone had the gaul to not bow down and kiss his hem that he went off his nut and killed him and continued to shoot at the car not caring at all that he could have killed the other people in it who did nothing to "disrespect" him. Because he's a narcissistic scumbag who thinks he's superior to everyone else and smarter than anyone else and can do whatever the hell he wants for what ever reason he wants. His gun made him so bold that he went LOOKING to start a confrontation with someone so that he could get the chance to shoot someone that annoyed him.

You should watch the videos of what his long time next door neighbors said about him. They were not surprised at all about what he did.
