Heard about today being President Gore's birthday this morning while half-asleep. Was just reminded of it by the South Park Al Gore episode. Searched DU and didn't find a birthday thread.

The pundits scratched their heads ... He knew. He would have been a great leader, imo.

(81,350 posts)mothers and kids - who lost a parent in Iraq. Or their dad (or mom) comes back a "wounded warrior" - who can never enjoy life with them the way it was before.
ALL THOSE LOST AND SO HORRIBLY DAMAGED would still be HERE, and WHOLE, if it weren't for that God-forsaken war, pushed by the flaccid chickenhawks and armchair warriors to get their jollies off so they could swagger around with their phony "Captain America" schtick and look tough. And make LOTS of money for their contractor friends (and themselves too, of course).
