No, it's not enough, and there's a lot more work to do on it, but it's light years better than what we had before.

(3,182 posts)After 30 years of being uninsured, I proudly stand and proclaim I am one of those who needed insurance and got it thanks to Obama!
Go Obama! And Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid and each and every DEMOCRATIC member of Congress who voted for this legislation.
I have a spot reserved right here beside me for any one of those Democrats who voted for ACA and is standing for re-election.

(1,921 posts)I was "only" uninsured for the last eight years, not thirty, but still -- I didn't have it, couldn't get it, needed it, and now I have it!!!
I'm with you on supporting and Dem who voted for this!

(3,182 posts)Congrats! I know what a relief it is just to say "I'm insured!"
With a pre-existing, chronic condition, uninsured meant I waited until I almost left my daughter an orphan in 2013 when I got very, very sick.

(35,015 posts)A big push here in San Antonio; it was fantastic. Our local news interviewed people who have never had insurance before. One woman was so proud of what she'd just done; smiling from ear to ear. She said for the first time in her life, she has the peace of mind that she can go to the doctor when she's sick.
This is why the GOP has tried to repeal ACA 50 times; they knew it would be a success. Come November it's going to be a selling point for Dems.

(3,182 posts)I saw photos. It reminded me of those lines during the 2008 election.
I truly believe people are not as stupid and apathetic and the teapublicans believe.

It was great too - doors closed at 8 but if a person was in line out the door, they got helped. The staff stayed and took care of every last person.
