Lorde's message to her fans...."flaws are OK"

If you needed more proof that Lorde isn’t your average teen (if, say, the multiple Grammys and MAC collaboration weren’t enough), here it is: The “Royals” singer just posted a photo of herself that shows her skin, both Photoshopped and as it actually is, while slamming the retouching in a sweet message to her fans.

“i find this curious – two photos from today, one edited so my skin is perfect and one real. remember flaws are ok ,” she captioned the picture, which shows one performance photo with her skin blurred to a smooth finish and another without any extra production.

Lorde is the latest star to reject overly retouched photos of herself. Shailene Woodley recently shared that she hates the way magazines make her look like something she’s not, while lots of stars are posting no makeup selfies to Instagram. Lorde, however, has gone even a step further than that, posting a selfie with her acne cream on.

I am an old fogey. If your music was made after 1990, it sucks. However this kid has something.. Along with the country kid Hunter Hayes. I'm not a fan of new music but I can deal with these two... and I wish they got more exposure.

Even Lorde thinks she's overexposed.

I purposely turn to country radio just so I don't have to hear her damn caterwauling all the time.

She may have had something, but she's been commercialized like everything else on the top 40 stations.

I guess video the internet didn't kill the radio star after all.

Oh, and good on the young lady in the OP, very progressive and caring move.
