New Jersey voters are split, 48 percent to 48 percent, on whether Christie is more of a “leader” or a “bully,” options chosen by pollsters. That’s a 10 percentage point increase in those saying “bully” since a poll released Jan. 15. Nevertheless, more voters approve than disapprove of the job he is doing by a 49 percent to 44 percent margin.

The poll found 96 percent of new Jersey voters know something about the closure of two of the three access lanes from local Fort Lee streets to the George Washington Bridge in September, a change ordered by a now-fired Christie appointee at the Port Authority who said he was running a traffic study. The closure gridlocked the town for four days until it was ordered reversed by the authority’s executive director, an appointee of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
