(19,568 posts)I'm picturing that gif that went viral when Osama bin Laden was taken out, you know the one where the president says "he's dead" and then kicks the door open on his way out? This time with the president saying, "8 million enrolled" and storming out.

(11,936 posts)...on these things anyway.
The real question is, what would the number be if all those red states weren't playing spiteful political games with the Medicaid expansion.

(31,245 posts)that the program not only met, but exceeded it's goals. Both crowds are pissed, and we're accused of "circling the wagons".

(8,419 posts)The number is great, but the rocky roll out meant shit. A media driven panic.
We are, for the most part, procrastinators.
It wasn't the new iPhone, more like tax day, many wait to the end.

(31,245 posts)I'm still waiting for our "liberal media" to give equal time to the ACA's success as they gave to the "rocky rollout". However, I probably won't live that long.

(38,453 posts)have this story at the top...in large type. .like it was the most important story..lead story..
The top story is Ukraine...CBS and ABC have it up there, but not in huge letters, or like it is the most important story.
Do you suppose the main stream media is against Obama? and the ACA???
(I remember in the roll out...it was always the lead story...remember?}
Fox News ug...has the story right below the stock market news to the far right..in very small letters..
take a look if you dare....and it is "ACA" not Obamacare...

(28,979 posts)Clearly, even with all the nasty tricks the Republicans used to try and deep six any healthcare reform, they could not convince those who most needed the insurance not to apply. The need is there. No denying that. And our side looks good for making it happen. Even if we should have demanded more, we moved forward. I hope now we will continue to fight to strengthen coverage, reduce expenses, and eliminate the insurance companies altogether.
One very amusing aspect of the law is that Repugs made a big point of naming it after Obama. Branding, I think it's called. hahahaha. FAIL. People like Obamacare. And his name is associated with the program, so they know it was his idea. It will make the GOP cringe everytime they hear it. Even if we could and should have won a larger victory, this is worthy of note. We won. It makes me smile. Then laugh. And I have the satisfaction of knowing the opposite is happening in rightwing stupidville. And that makes me smile again.
I'm still pushing for universal coverage though.
