Third U.S. Mumps Outbreak This Year Happens in New Jersey

This week, New Jersey joined New York and Ohio as the third U.S. location to have a mumps outbreak this year—and it probably won’t be the last. Is it time for mandatory vaccines?

1. The Mumps Sucked! I even got them in the middle of summer!

Wasted a few weeks of summer sitting inside watching everyone else have fun!

Kids who get the vaccines today have it good, they did not have to suffer though the childhood diseases that many of us had too.

Of course Polio was the worst but at least they had a vaccine that was not a shot! I am thankful that I did not get the Polio but I got everything else as a kid.

In an informal study I did amongst friends and coworkers, those of us who had all the childhood diseases seem to have better overall health and less susceptible to things that are going around. Perhaps getting the disease toughens one up so to speak.
