the crowds. At one booth, I thought I had gone back in time because of the combination of all the tie-dyed items, hippie vendors and pot fumes. So far, according to local news, 63 citations have been issued for public pot smoking today. The reporter mentioned that the cops are only citing those who are blatantly smoking in front of them.

It works with cigars, cigarettes, joints, anything that makes smoke.

In fairness to those with allergies and/or who just don't want to smell other peoples habits/needs/medicines/assholes, I think people need to learn to act with appropriate respect to other peoples' space.

it's only one small park downtown, and the event was very well publicized so it's reasonable to assume most people would know to avoid it if they wanted to. It's not at all residential.

But more importantly, Denver closes down two downtown blocks for two and a half days for Oktoberfest, which is one huge binge of public intoxication. If they allow one event, they really have to allow the other. And personally, I'd rather be around a bunch of potheads than drunks. I've never been hit by a pothead, but drunks have been very detrimental to my health.

As a former smoker of all manner of smokables, however, I know a lot of people are allergic to different smokes and I'd like so see some consistency.

Also, for medical purposes, brownies and other means of ingestion are available and, arguably, healthier for all.

Apr 2014

Two deaths are being attributed to edibles, though one guy committed suicide after eating 6 times the dosage amount on a medical marijuana cookie (dose was posted on the package) and the other guy shot his wife after eating a pot brownie (but was also on some kind of prescription med, possibly for depression/paranoia). As a result, at least one store has pulled all their edibles.

I agree, though. It would be good for both the legalization movement and the health of bystanders if edibles were more readily consumed in public.

Your argument essentially says smoking in any public place is ok. Your car is vented and smoke goes in public.

Also if I'm out mowing my lawn where it is near the road the smoke from your car will go onto my property and I can smell it too.

now they are unavoidable (electric cars are not affordable for all yet, yada, yada). Smoking (whether pot or cigs) is much more controllable by the smoker. Wait until you get home or at least get on the highway. Doing it in a residential or stop and go traffic is a dick move. I guess inconveniencing smokers is wrong though.

Also, exhaust fumes are much less annoying (yeah yeah I know if you suck on an exhaust pipe you die and if you suck on a cig or a joint you don't) because exhaust doesn't leave me stinky - like tobacco and weed do.
