Syria Is Holding Presidential Elections And The Internet Is Not Amused

Syria announced today that presidential elections will be held on June 3. Syrian President Bashar al Assad has not yet formally announced his candidacy — but in Syria’s current climate, the announcement of elections means Assad has already won.

“For the sake of the country, I will elect Assad.”

Here donkeys, seemingly on the way to slaughter, say, “We are going to elect Bashar.”

I find it kind of sad that the last tweet is asking for help from human rights groups, Obama, McCain, US, UK and UN to help #SaveSyria. Quite brave, too. If the rebels fall he may want to hide that account, if ya know what I mean.
