Many conservative claims go unanswered out of sheer fatigue

There was a conservative on Bill Maher this week who tossed out a blizzard of talking points about whatever the topic was as if that constituted discussion.

She made one amazingly bad argument about Obamacare and I was struck that nobody felt like challenging it because why? It would just lead to more random talking points.

But it was so jaw-dropping I thought I'd share.

She stated that Obamacare has been demonstrated to not reduce the rate of growth of healthcare costs. This is the opposite of what has actually been shown, so one does wonder how it was "demonstrated."

She explained that if you looked at the cost curve 5 years before Obama care and five years after Obamacare they are the same.

First, that's probably not even true.

Second... "Five years after Obamacare" is dated from the passage of the law... as opposed to, say, five years after Obamacare went into effect.

Amazing.

2. Yep, that's how they operate. If it goes unchallenged, they can claim it's "true"

If it's challenged, then the opponent spends all their time challenging lies. It's maddening!!

Simply throw out enough nonsense and declare victory when the other side simply can't respond to all of them due to sheer volume.

based on the metrics as he assumed the office. Things continued downhill for a while before policies were changed, and longer before they started to take effect and turn things around.

Checked! Challenged! Debated! Knocked thoroughly and decisively DOWN! And if somebody wants to motormouth and be rude and talk over everybody else and interrupt all over the place as it seems too many of the bad guys have now been taught to do, then YANK THEIR FREAKIN' MICS!!!! CUT 'EM OFF!!!!!!!! If I were hosting some show like that (or anywhere), I'd let the opposition know in no uncertain terms - up front, before anything started, that if they do that on MY airtime, they WILL be forced to stop. Physically and/or mechanically, if they refuse to play nice. So far better they shut themselves up and show some manners - otherwise I would not hesitate to do it, or have it done for them.

Shit, I'm in some kinda nasty mood today!

Throw everything against the wall in hopes that something sticks. It shows their desperation. The problem is people are gullible and many will fall for their crap.
