Morning Joe actually watchable today - of course neither Joe or Mika were there

No Joe or Mika for at least the first hour on today's show and the result shows that there's a decent show there if only they would get rid of the supposed faces of the program.

It appeared that Nicole Wallace and Donny Deutsch were hosting the program today. In short order Donny Deutsch calls Benghazi hearings a joke and while Nicole Wallace doesn't agree she doesn't scream and interrupt Donny like Joe would do. Nicole manages to contribute to the discussion without having to resort to mugging at the camera or making knowing glances at Donny.

Meanwhile the CNBC guest (can't remember the name - Brian Sullivan?) calls out today's GOP as being populated by small minded exclusionists. Admits he's a Republican who favors small government but admits that big government can be useful in certain situations. Say's he's pro-same sex marriage, pro-marijuana legalization and wonders how he's supposed to feel welcome given the Tea-Party dominance. Since Joe isn't on site nobody has a hissy-fit trying to claim that the Democratic party is just as inflexible on certain things as the GOP is on moral issues.

Sullivan went on to joke that today will probably be the last day he appears on Morning Joe, which is why the show generally sucks. Any decent guests/panelists who know what they are talking about have increasingly been banned from the program for showing Joe to be the no-knowledge reactionary idiot he truly is.

Best of all....no one made repeated references to having a long-ago term of service in Congress which apparently is supposed to be taken as a sign of wisdom and all-knowing intellect.

I guess it would be too much to hope for Joe and Mika to be on a week-long leave of absence but today shows that the concept of the show would work if the normal hosts would stop acting like the show is all about them.

3. The only thing missing (at least while I was watching) was a segment about Christie's bridge scandal

where Donny again states that Christie is a joke and a bully who should give up any hopes of being president.

I love it when Donny is able to go "free willy" as it were on the show without Joe...

7. I don't know if it happened. Just saying that it would have made for a perfect show

Given the fawning coverage Christie gets whenever Joe and Mika are hosting it's a breath of fresh air to see Donny be frequently dismissive of Christie and Donald Trump. It never fails to get Joe and Mika all hot and bothered that someone doesn't see Christie as a wonderful and effective leader.

it may be why Joe went on his rant yesterday. He likes to double down on Benghazi or the IRS scandal or whatever Democratic scab he can pick at when his precious Christie is under fire. He likes to create a diversion...

It's always nice to see old "Big Mouth" absent. If he was gone more often and I would watch more often.
It's especially nice to hear someone actually finish a sentence without "I was in Congress" butting in and interrupting.
What an arrogant asshole...he makes me want to
