Club them in the head with a hammer and then cut them up when unconscious.

Perhaps that's how.

Sounds like there was some torture involved and it was not quick deaths.

Words like "flay" and "torture" were often used, for the room mates.
He specifically said he was going to invite as many people as he could, inclduing them, one by one into the apt. and then kill them.
Sounds like he got at least 3 to enter.

If they weren't drugged or anything, I would think it would be tough to take out THREE young men with a knife.

He was scrawny, but his last group of roommates weren't all that athletic, iirc. I'm interested in the details on that too.

I haven't seen the claim anywhere else, though, so I'm not sure how accurate it is.

One thing you learn early on in police training- don't let a person with a knife get close to you.

A determined person with a knife can do a whole lot of damage. In a close space like a dorm room against people with zero self defense training a whole lot.

Watch this video- these were cops who had training and knew they were facing some sort of training scenario:

His roommates were computer science students. Very unlikely they had any self defense training.

A police officer chasing a suspect caught up with the suspect. The suspect killed the police officer with a knife.

He accused one of his roommates of stealing candles from him. Called the police on the roommate and got the roommate arrested and charged with petty theft.
So, it's a fair bet they were not drinking together.
