MOSCOW, June 24 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian Foreign Ministry said Tuesday that the raid by the Israeli forces on the office of RTs Arabic channel in Palestinian Ramallah is unacceptable and called for the return of the seized property.
Moscow condemns such unacceptable actions in relation to the media workers, regardless of the reason. Disproportionate use of force against civilians is unacceptable in any case. We insists that all the confiscated property of the RT TV channel should be immediately returned, the comment by Ministrys spokesman Alexander Lukashevich reads.
The Russian diplomat expressed his opinion that the events in Ramallah once again prove that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict remains unsettled leading to outbreaks of violence targeting mostly civilians on the both sides.
This highlights the urgent need to resume the search for peaceful diplomatic solutions to the Palestinian-Israeli standoff, Lukashevich stressed.
Overnight June 21, as part of the operation in the West Bank city the Israeli troops invaded the Palmedia company building, damaging the property of several offices of Arabian media. RTs Arabic channel, located in the building was also targeted by the raid.
