The conservative justices on the SC just pull their decisions out of their tushies, one at a time, based on nothing but their own partisan preference about a given issue, entirely without any regard for the Constitution or for long established precedents.

But it's fun to play victim amiright?
Those decisions are so atrocious that I am hoping it ensures Dem wins going forward if only to see this court redefined.
One or two posters making ridiculous claims do not reflect the feelings of this board. Why is it so difficult to just shoot down their ridiculous threads instead of painting the entire board with their sentiments.

His guest was Utah Senator Mike Lee, who basically agreed with Wilkow.

(37,573 posts)Look, I care about certain issues where it seems that nobody else cares about them. Every person has issues that they care a lot about, issues that they care some about and issues that they don't care about.
So people who do not share the same passion might think people are over-reacting if they start spitting fire about some event.
Doubtless people do the same thing to me. I am still spitting nails about ATRA which was signed into law over a year and a half ago. Almost nobody else cares.
Aggravating when people don't share your concerns, but I don't see how it helps to try to drive them away.

hfojvt
(37,573 posts)I mentioned that I was upset about ATRA.
Is that because ATRA is "all about me".
Or is it about income inequality which presumably impacts ALL of society?
The funny part is that bravenak who cares about racial issues, because he is black.
I am not saying that is bad, but clearly on those issues he has a dog in the hunt - it IS about him, and about a group he belongs to.
Or this OP, where Redqueen, and many others, care so much about this Hobby Lobby case, because they are women. Again, they personally have a dog in the hunt.
But no, it is only hfojvt who only cares about himself. He's bad for not caring about issues that affect US.
Look at your icon PFLAG - a group about YOUR kids or YOUR friends. Apparently it is all about THEM.
People do obviously care more about issues that affect them, so pointing a finger at me, strikes me as pretty funny.
And yeah, I went to protest the invasion of Iraq because I didn't want people I don't even know getting blown up.
JTFrog
(14,274 posts)WTF?
There are plenty of men here who care a lot about the Hobby Lobby case because they care about women. Believe it or not, you are very much in the minority here stating that you don't share women's concerns.
hfojvt
(37,573 posts)Seemingly I am one of the few who doesn't hate Christianity.
And I am missing your logic.
I am not a member of the Jets. Nor do I support the Jets or mean to by sporting this icon. It's only a metaphor. http://journals.democraticunderground.com/hfojvt/122
Perhaps you also mean PFLAG as a metaphor of some sort and don't actually support them.
My point was that PFLAG is also an organization that seems to be all about THEMselves. It is THEIR children and THEIR friends that they are concerned about.
Amazingly enough though, I don't make up my mind based on polling. I don't ask "what does everybody else think?" and finding a huge majority decide "well, I guess I will think that too."
One of the "great" things about being in the minority though, is that some people in the huge majority have no qualms about demonizing you.

(19,670 posts)While I believe the vast majority of DUers are appalled at this decision, that there are people here who see this as neither a short term slam against women, or in the long run a precedent setting erosion in the separation of church and state and the furtherance of corporate "personhood" is part of what's fueling the outrage.
And make no mistake, outrage IS the correct response to this outrageous decision. I stand with you in opposing this decision for it's immediate harm against women and it's long term potential to harm all of us.
redqueen
(115,164 posts)It's very sad seeing it on DU.

"
Or, the fact is, there are people who insists they are "liberals", yet really have no problem with women becoming second class citizens, nor wth corporations and churches getting more power. There is the "i'm all right jack" crowd that misses the FDR benefits and Clinton era jobs, but sees no paradox in the fact that what progress we got was because EVERYBODY benefitted, and we tasled ourselves to improve EVERYONE'S lot, not just people that look like them.
