Latia Harris, 25, was planning to turn herself in nearly a week after she viciously attacked Catherine Ferreira behind a McDonald’s in Salem on June 24, WTXF-TV reported.

A video of the brutal beatdown — which was recorded by bystanders — shows only Ferreira’s son, Xzavion Ortiz, trying to intervene by bravely kicking at Harris.

1. I note the taping starts before the beat down

No one tried to talk any sense to her? No one was concerned with the child, the mother, OR the attacker who lost her job and who will rightfully go to prison for this. They were concerned only with getting the whole beat down on tape and then putting it on YouTube ASAP.

If you know a beat down is about to happen and you shoot the video the you are not as this article describes them "bystanders." We are all in this mess together and we should try to be more than just a sadistic cameraman in these situations. No one is a bystander in their own life or community.

and the hero of this story, the only one bravely trying to defend his mom is also the smallest.
