Neo-imperialism - this time from gays and Biden says the far-right

Peter LaBarbera Defends Uganda, Warns Of Gay 'Neo-Imperialism'

Yesterday on VCY America’s flagship radio show “Crosstalk,” Peter LaBarbera expressed outrage over Joe Biden’s recent remarks in support of LGBT rights, accusing the vice president of “neo-imperialism.”

LaBarbera, the head of Americans For Truth About Homosexuality, defended draconian anti-gay laws in Uganda and Jamaica: “The American government has embraced a neo-imperialism where we arrogantly override the beliefs of countries like Jamaica and Uganda and other countries with the idea that we, America, know what’s best for the world.”

He went on to tell host Jim Schneider that homosexuality is “destructive” and “highly dangerous.”

“This is not civilized behavior, this is sinful, destructive behavior which is being celebrated by our government, and if that’s not bad enough, then forced upon the world as if America with all of our sin and all of our decadence knows what is best for the world,” he said.

The far-right knows the right terms to use, they just have no idea of what they mean and when to use them.

(ON EDIT)--the words in italics are replacements of the original wording of his quote, FOR ACCURACY.

“The American government has embraced a neo-imperialism where we arrogantly override the beliefs of countries like Afghanistan and Iraq and other countries with the idea that we, America, know what’s best for the world...This is not civilized behavior, this is extra-Constitutional, destructive behavior which is being celebrated by our government, and if that’s not bad enough, then forced upon the world as if America with all of our FreeDumb and all of our Corporatism knows what is best for the world,”

All they know is that the phrase "neo-imperlism" seems to be an applause line whenever they watch people who really and ACTUALLY care about America and the rest of the World address these issues in public. You're correct in that they have NO IDEA what they mean, or why OTHER people are actually using them.

It's funny how they think they should be more like Liberals in that sense. "Oh hey, look, the Liberals got a lot of grassroots support at the last (insert politically-important thingy). WE should have that, too, because we're JUST as important as they are...
"LOOK EVERYBODY WE'RE HAVING A (POLITICALLY-IMPORTANT THINGY), LOOK AT HOW MUCH GRASSROOTS SUPPORT WE HAVE (as crickets chirp and the tourbus realizes it isn't going to be making it's money back...)

It's kind of a form of their self-created narrative that both sides in a debate should be given equal weight, even if ONE side of that debate was proven wrong already. It feeds this notion they have that Liberals are angry at them simply because THEY'RE NOT Liberals, and nothing could be further from the truth....

Liberals are angry at you because you can't govern, hate meeting the needs of your fellow Citizens, detest intelligence, formal education, Scientific Methodology AND MATH, and because you don't give 2 fucks about the rest of the planet OR the different kinds of people on it. Liberals are angry at you because because you want to be treated like equal adults, but at EVERY opportunity, you act like the worst kind of spoiled, tantrum-having children.

I'm telling you guys, you want something positive to happen for your Party, you're going to have to do this one FOR REAL this time, and throw President Jr., Dick Cheney, and the rest of them UNDER THAT BUS THE KOCH BROTHERS PAID FOR. It's the only way OUT of the Cognitive Dissonance you've done gone and created for yourselves. And thinking that they were all fuck-ups because "well... see they weren't really REAL Conservatives enough" is going to cost you the next set of elections, Oh I can PROMISE you that. They were fuck-ups because they REALLY REALLY WERE just as "Conservative" as any Administration could be.

Don't believe me? Go ahead and RUN Ted Cruz for President, because that would just be awesome to watch.
