New photo shows an aging Charles Manson

California prison officials have released a
new photo of serial killer Charles Manson.
The photos show Manson, 77, with long, gray hair
and a beard. It released at the request of CNN
in advance of an April 11 parole hearing.

My how times have changed.

Speaking of which
If Manson had committed his crimes today
would this be the photo that the MSM would use?

The Twitter account does NOT say: Verified

and also it says @heltershelter sHelter not sKelter

Note: "Helter Shelter" is the fifth episode from the fourteenth season of The Simpsons that aired December 1, 2002.

In addition to your point, would the prison allow him, or any inmate for that matter, to be 'tweeting'???

I could be wrong, but find it hard to believe that they would.

Is designed to keep his ass in prison. He's been up for parole several times, and he acts his looniest to get sent back because he knows that if he's let loose into the general public, some guy will gladly try to earn his 15 minutes of fame by becoming, "The Guy Who Killed Charles Manson."

that that poor kid was a monster. Pretending to believe all those ridiculous lies and badly faked pictures. And now this? Must be the latest ploy from Stormfront. Just tells me they KNOW the kid was shot for no good reason - and they think that's just fucking dandy.

That because he is white, the media would portray him as innocent choirboy.

Maybe shows why I always get people backwards? Or why they always take me the wrong way?

Before he went on to become infamous. It figures that the only people he couldn't persuade were the ones he was being sincere with.

Still, I would not be surprised to see him sponsored by bands of followers if he were ever released. Which is the State's reason for keeping him in. The other reason is that he doesn't want to leave.

His parole hearing should be interesting.

Could you state clearly if that is your point and if it is not - what is your point?

Can you point to one single example of the media ever doing what you are suggesting, using an innocent looking childhood picture of an elderly cold blooded killer to convince the public to have a tolerant attitude toward them?

29. Consider Manson's childhood:
Thu Apr 5, 2012, 09:24 AM
Apr 2012

Born to an alcoholic teenage mother who once sold him for a pitcher of beer. Living with her in shabby rented rooms (when she wasn't in jail for shoplifting or whoring), then in various reform schools -including one where he was regularly raped. He was essentially on his own by his early teens. Born of trash and treated like trash. It's hardly surprising how he turned out.

What he eventually became was a menace to society and he should remain locked up forever, but he never had a chance. Sure, some criminals (like Bundy or Gacy) lived mainstream lives --but they must be the exception. Richard Speck and Peter Kurten (from Germany) had similarly wretched childhoods, as did the Carr brothers (of the Wichita Massacre in 2000).

I am NOT defending or excusing him, but I can't help but feel pity that long-ago mistreated child. Would any of us be who we are today without the unconditional *and tangible* love and support of parents, grandparents, aunts & uncles??

I get the Trayvon Martin comparison and I think you're as sick as Manson.

FWIW, Trayvon didn't look all that much different from the first circulated picture and some when he was older. He still looks like a young kid in both.
