Arizona Gov. Brewer's pick for regents' board -- a conservative blogger -- back in the running

Gov. Jan Brewer's selection of a conservative political blogger to the board that governs Arizona's university system will be considered after all.

The Senate Education Committee, which typically approves the governor's nominations to the board, has decided to place Greg Patterson's name on the agenda again, after its chairman removed Patterson's name earlier this week.

The committee will consider Brewer's nomination of Patterson at 11:30 a.m. Monday.

... "The governor is strongly supportive of his appointment and is confident that they'll have the support to be confirmed in the Senate," said Matthew Benson, Brewer's spokesman.
