NBC correspondent accidentally says Obama 'is from Kenya'

Source: San Francisco Chronicle

On Tuesday’s “Reid Report,” NBC News Senior White House Correspondent Chris Jansing accidentally said that President Obama is from Kenya.

Host Joy Reid began the segment commenting on the ongoing U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit in Washington, D.C. by saying, “The White House is clearly, I would assume, hoping that this will be part of the president’s legacy, given his background.”

Jansing replied, “Yeah, the fact that he’s from Kenya, and the fact that when he was elected there were expectations on the African continent that he would do great things for them. This is a concerted effort by this administration to get American companies to invest.”

Jansing later addressed her mistake, noting that Obama’s father is from Kenya.

Never mind that they would never otherwise believe anything from NBC.

He did get some pushback for being Catholic, but he overcame that!

Michelle Obama basically did the same thing when she misspoke and said that she and the president visited "his home country in Kenya."

It's not true and not what she meant to say and she surely didn't mean to imply something that was wrong. She just made a slip, as I imagine this reporter did.
