and explain what is happening and what is being done about the situation. He can tell us if he has been in contact with the Governor, and offer details about that conversation. If he has not been in contact with the Governor, he can explain why that it. That is the least he can do.

He could also send people to protect the people being terrorized.

You know, his job. He could do his job.

it wouldn't surprise me if he felt caught between the proverbial rock and hard place - he's a Dem in a state whose legislature is controlled by GOPers and teabaggers and can't figure out whether it would be more damaging politically to activate the state National Guard to control the cops (and piss off the 'baggers), or do nothing and let the cops keep rioting - and piss off everybody else. I hope the guy grows a spine overnight.

reflecting on the sad state of war that much of the world is in, basically the ethnic cleansing tolls. Think of how americans in general accept it. It seems that we have a much larger problem than a single cop, a single city, state, etc.

Obama...Don't make this your Katrina

WTF! I didn't see the news today. Did Obama fly over Ferguson today and look blankly out of the window at the devastation below and then fly off to a birthday party? What is it about DU and the Obama hate.

Holder is already on the job. If you think for one moment that this President is not on top of this, then you haven't been paying attention. Or maybe you just don't want to.

"Obama's Katrina"...dear gawd, I need to Last time I heard that was from the GOP.

Which of these 19 things was the MOST Obama’s Katrina’s moment? Conservatives can’t seem to decide.

This week, many conservatives have labeled the debate over undocumented immigrants, "Obama's Katrina." It is not the first time a political issue has been labeled Obama's Katrina. Let's take a step back through history...

up with a better talking point than that?! Hyperbolic much?!

"Holder is already on the job. If you think for one moment that this President is not on top of this, then you haven't been paying attention. Or maybe you just don't want to."

They never learn, she.. just because President Obama went to a birthday party doesn't mean he isn't multi-tasking. It means he is.

In a worst case scenario this is a murder. Katrina was intentional neglect that killed hundreds and crippled a region.

The U.S. Attorney's office has already opened an investigation into the situation. At this point, the best thing to do is to let the U.S. Attorney investigate, taking it out of the hands of the local police and for people to not do things like throw rocks at the police because that's really just not going to help. Because it's clearly not just the police escalating this situation. It's both the police and whatever idiots are throwing rocks at them. Sort of like you shouldn't pick fights with people who buy ink in barrels, you shouldn't pick them with people who buy bullets in bulk.

Obama has already spoken out about this, and the FBI along with the Justice Department are in Ferguson. That's more than Bush did for Katrina.

Bush's Katrina was a once in a generation, maybe a once in a lifetime, display of incompetence and mismanagement from a Chief Executive.

Wondering if every scandal, or situation, is going be be Obama's Katrina, is ridiculous, and minimizes the colossal fuck-up that Bush's Katrina actually was.

Color me amazed, Sid. I am shocked that people would immediately jump all over Obama on this. NOT! Holder has already opened an investigation on the Michael Brown shooting. Anyone that has been paying attention over the past five years, knows that Obama is on this.

Obama's Katrina is RW crap! See it here...

not even a single mention of it, this can't be bad for him. The news has buried it 100%. This isn't like Katrina at all where the fact that there was a hurricane wasn't censored.

The feed tonight showed, with the arrests and assaults on the press, as well as the infringement of the right of the people to peaceably assemble - that federal laws are blatantly being violated.

Should it not matter to the administration because they aren't able to bust in on a medical cannabis dispensary? Are drug laws the only federal laws this administration sees fit to prosecute?

Should Obama not care because these are just poor, inner-city black people, and the cold-blooded murder of one of their children - followed by the violation of their right to protest this murder - doesn't matter to all the comfy suburbanites here? If it doesn't touch people's well-fed, well-shod existence, so the fuck what? Who cares Why should Obama do a damned thing?

Maybe there are a lot more self-serving cowards on this board than I thought.

BUT BUT THE ELECTION! WE'LL WORRY ABOUT THOSE BROWN PEOPLE GETTING TEARGASSED AND SHOT AT WITH RUBBER BULLETS AFTER THIS IMPORTANT ELECTION!

Are we a nation of laws or not?
