Congressman Paul Ryan Hates 'House Of Cards'

http://www.businessinsider.com/paul-ryan-house-of-cards-2014-8

Washington, D.C. may be obsessed with the political drama "House of Cards" on Netflix, but Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) is not one of them.

"I watched the first couple of episodes until he cheated on his wife with that reporter. It turned my stomach so much that I just couldn’t watch it anymore," Ryan told Parade Magazine in an interview published Friday.

Ryan was of course referring to the character of Frank Underwood, an ambitious Washington insider played by actor Kevin Spacey. In the series, now in its second season, Underwood gets romantically-involved with reporter Zoe Barnes, among many other diversions from ethical behavior.

"His behavior was so reprehensible, and it hit too close to home because he was a House member, that it just bothered me too much. And what I thought is, it makes us all look like we’re like that," Ryan said in the interview.

***he is so weird.

Lots of people enjoy the show.

I didn't like it but that's because I don't like watching dramas where every singly character is completely reprehensible. Same goes for the original British version. Very well done but I just hated everybody in it and didn't care what happened to them.

However, if it's a comedy where all the characters are awful, I'm a big fan. Just got through a second viewing of "The Thick of It" - wherein there's not a single hero to be found. I adored it.

Frank and his wife have an odd "politically driven" marriage and practice an open marriage. What Ryan couldn't stand was it wasn't cheating (Though it may be a lot of things, the happy couple agreed to it for political reasons).
