http://www.business-standard.com/article/news-ani/british-american-special-forces-forming-hunter-killer-unit-task-force-black-to-smash-islamic-state-114082400250_1.htmlBritain's elite special forces along with US special forces are forming a unit called Task Force Black to hunt down the killer of James Foley and smash the Islamic State.
According to the Mirror and as reported by the Sunday People, the undercover unit's aim will be to "cut the head off the snake" by hitting the command structure of the Islamist terror group responsible for a trail of atrocities across Iraq and Syria.
British special forces will once again work with America's Delta Force and Seal Team 6 in joint operations to combat the Islamic State and take down Abu Bakr -al-Baghdadi, the leader of the jihadist group.
The SAS, Seals and Delta Force have worked together on many operations in Afghanistan and share intelligence.
The new task force will include a squadron of the SAS, special forces aircrews from the RAF and agents from MI5 and MI6, the report says.
The operation will be headed by US' CIA spy agency.

(111,267 posts)but it might be counterproductive to destroy ISIS. They might be the only outfit out there capable of getting national borders redrawn in a way that makes sense and promotes stability in the region.
I don't think we can destroy ISIS, never mind that we probably should not. The dream of a new caliphate was also one of Saddam's dreams and one reason Kuwait was his first target. It's a common theme among many of the young Arabs I've talked to on the net.
Never mind how wretchedly they lived under the last one, the Ottoman Empire, that's really not the point. They're chasing a dream of unity and of making their own decisions instead of having puppets do it for them.
