Students working to develop nail polish that will detect date rape drugs

Four North Carolina State University students are working to combat date rape by developing a nail polish that will change colors if it comes in contact with a drink that's been drugged, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

When Undercover Colors polish is released, its creators hope that anyone wearing the polish will swirl their finger in their drink before taking a sip. If a date rape drug is present, the polish will change colors and the wearer will know to discard the beverage.

As the product is still in its early stages of development, the team behind the project is seeking donations.

makers of date rape drugs will do is add an ingredient that will override the nail polish. Giving people a false sense of security.

How about teaching people not to drug and rape. How about taking rape seriously enough that rape kits are not sitting in evidence rooms, rotting.

Imagine the panic that would ensue if someone broke into a bar the morning before Ladies Night and added a chemical that would activate this nail polish to every bottle of liquor.
