My Old Man Was A Police Reporter In The Cook County (Chicago) Jail Before WWII...

He worked alongside several people... including Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur...

Who wrote the play, later turned into a movie, starring Jack Lemmon and Walter Mattheau...

When the war broke out... he was friends with Pierre Salinger, James Bassett, and many more.

I asked my dad, when I was a kid...

What is going on with the police ???

This was most likely after the 1968 Democratic Convention...

And I had grown up admiring the cops... and watching cop shows... Dragnet. Hawaii 5-O, Ironsides, etc...

And my dad explained to me...

Most cops go into the field to do good... and most stay good...

But... there are a certain percentage... that go in, just for the badge, the baton, and the gun.

Beware of those guys.

The incredible thing is that he lived to tell them.

when I noticed a difference. Maybe because of social media scrutiny, too, but that warrior mentality that we have to inject into 18 year olds like a dose of ultra testosterone and literally train them to have no feeling when blowing away women and children as well as males. The survival mentality they had to develop to invade the giant sandboxes we sent them to...for Cheney's oil...doesn't just go away. It's addictive.

There used to be info from wives about the tragic and immense changes, but that didn't seem to go far either.
