Woman assaulted at GOP rally: ”He didn’t need to have his body pressed against my rear end,”

Tisdale would eventually be charged with trespassing, a misdemeanor, and obstructing an officer “by elbowing him in the right cheek area and kicking him in the right shin.” That last one’s a felony.

”He didn’t need to have his body pressed against my rear end,” Tisdale said Wednesday.

Linda Clary Umberger, chairman of the Dawson County GOP, followed the citizen journalist and the officer to an outbuilding. “I watched as a woman was bent over the counter on her face, with an officer over her,” Umberger said. “If I had been her, I would have elbowed him in the face, too.

“I was so upset at how they handled it – I walked out,” said the county GOP chairman. It was one of those seminal events, she said, likely to split relationships and end friendships. The arresting officer, fetchyournews.com would report Wednesday, has been suspended pending an internal investigation.

The rally went on without Umberger and Tisdale. But only Olens dealt with what everyone had witnessed. The attorney general couldn’t ignore what had just happened to the same woman he’d spent the last two years defending.

“Let me be possibly politically incorrect here a second,” Olens told the crowd. “If we stand for anything as a party, what are we afraid of with the lady having a camera, filming us? What are we saying here that shouldn’t be on film? What message are we sending? That because it’s private property, they shouldn’t be filming? What is the harm?

from your link, Randy.. thank you.

".. From all we can learn, this did not happen. Instead, organizers targeted the woman with the camera in the front row. Brian Pritchard, a capitalist-journalist with fetchyournews.com, sat in the second row. He was not approached. Pritchard kept his voice recorder on and his camera snapping.

Which is how we know what happened next. Clint Bearden, a local attorney and former Dawson County GOP chairman – and one of the organizers, asked Tisdale to stop her videography. She declined, pointing out that she had been invited to attend."

First and foremost, this is the right eating the right.

The whole situation with this woman is strange, but she's a right winger in bed with the looniest of the loons in this county. She doesn't live here. She has no connection to this county, nor the politicians in this county, but she has targeted it for her stunts for some reason.

She was filming a city of Cumming meeting. Since the city records every public meeting and puts them on their web site, there's no reason to have a private person filming them as well. So, the Mayor asked her to quit filming. She refused. He had her removed from the meeting. She sued. The right wing State AG took her case against the Mayor and has won a finding against the Mayor and a $1200.00 fine for "violating sunshine laws."

Long story short, during the recent primaries (all republican candidates, not a single DEM qualified for the ballot in this county) she took a video and sliced and diced it to make one of the local republican candidates look bad. She ticked off the local republican party. At the next republican women's event, she was unceremoniously kicked out. The local republican party just wrote a set of media rules and regs designed to keep this woman out of ANY republican event.

You have to understand the local politics around here. They vote 90% republican every election. Then, within weeks of being sworn in, every office holder becomes Public Enemy #1 until the next election.

This is nothing more than republican eating republican. Local politics writ large, with republicans the only party involved.

The Mayor of the city she sued? He's been in office for over 40 years. The entire city council runs unopposed every election. The county politicians HATE THEM. Because the city owns the outlet to the water source and rules it with an iron hand. The Mayor screws the County every which way, every time he can. Frankly, he's been a good Mayor for the residents of the City (my home is inside the city limits) has kept taxes and expenses low for city residents by forcing the COUNTY to fork over sales tax revenue and water payments. Road are paved and well maintained inside the city limits. We have sidewalks that end at the city line. We are the county seat and the only city within the county.

The bottom line is simple - this is republican vs. republican and it's LOCAL.

Nothing will come of this.

The woman is a no name weirdo with a video camera who plans to make a living like the Westboro family - by causing a scene like this one and suing whoever is involved. So far, she's sued the City, the Republican Women of Forsyth County and I'm quite certain will have a lawsuit against several entities over this one. There were multiple reporters at this same event, and they were also recording. No one but this woman was asked to turn off her camera.

We do NOT do ourselves any favors getting involved here. Let them tear each other apart and destroy the local republican party.

But DEMs should stay the hell away.
