Ferguson is not the only city facing challenges. Johnathon Kozol wrote a booK:

Savage Inequalities in American Schools. In that book, on pages 82 and 83, he documents the deplorable conditions that children have to face while attending school in East St. Louis. They faced a sewage system that backed up into classrooms and the cafeteria, causing dismissal. The problem continues and it almost just serves as the norm. Although this book was written sometime ago, I wonder if East St Louis has addressed so many of its problems that have now been revealed to America. I also wonder about politicians who are so vocal now. Where have their voices been before this?
