only ones I care to watch anymore are Stewart, Colbert and Oliver. John Oliver is becoming my favs mighty fast like too. Now he is a guy who can put it, whatever 'it' is in perspective to where anyone can understand 'it.'
Rachel is too drama queenish, Tweety is too, well tweety and a Al is just not my cup of tea, too much of an opportunist I guess is how I'd put it. Give me some comedy central and I can hang with them.

otherwise, I am totally with you on this. Stewart, Colbert, Oliver, yes. Maddow drones on too much; and Tweety is an opportunist. One minute he was literally drooling over Dimson's run for a second term; the next minute (or so it seemed) Obama was making his leg tingle; and now he's ready for Hillary.

I think only Scarborough and the uber "flexible" Tweety made the transition from the days when MSNBC was red from Imus in the Morning to Dennis Miller's pre MSNBC's canned prison programming show--and Scarborough had to acquire Mika to do swing it. Tweety did it all on his own.

Early life and education

Todd was born in Miami, Florida, the son of Lois Cheri (née Bernstein) and Stephen Randolph Todd.[2] He is Jewish on his mother's side, and was raised Jewish.[3][4] He graduated from Miami Killian Senior High School in the Kendall neighborhood of greater Miami. Todd attended George Washington University from 1990 to 1994. He played French horn and attended on a music scholarship.[5] Although he majored in political science and minored in music, he did not graduate.[6]

Career
Political campaigns

Before coming to the world of political reporting and analysis, Todd earned practical political experience on initiative campaigns in Florida and various national campaigns based in Washington, D.C.[7] While in college, Todd worked for the 1992 presidential campaign of Senator Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) and later started part-time at The Hotline.

The Hotline

From 1992 until March 12, 2007, Todd worked for National Journal's The Hotline, where he was editor-in-chief for six years.[8] As part of his position, Todd also co-hosted, with John Mercurio, the webcast series Hotline TV, consisting of a daily show lasting between three and seven minutes and a weekly show ranging between 20 and 30 minutes. He became a frequent guest on political discussion shows, such as Hardball with Chris Matthews and Inside Politics with Judy Woodruff.

NBC News

Tim Russert brought Todd to NBC from The Hotline in March 2007.[8] He became NBC News’ political director at that time. After Russert's death, Todd was a candidate to replace him as the host of NBC's Meet the Press,[9] but David Gregory was ultimately selected for the job. As NBC News Political Director, Todd often provides on-air political analysis on political discussion shows, including Morning Joe, Hardball with Chris Matthews, Meet the Press, NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, and The Rachel Maddow Show[8] and blogs for MSNBC.com at "First Read."[10] He also does a weekly Question and Answer ("Q&A&quot session with users at Newsvine.

many things. My father in law never even finished high school and I learned a lot from him while I have failed to learn a hell of a lot from some college professors with advanced degrees. So, it's not about formal education.

I am saying that nothing in Toad's wiki--or Toad's behavior--that suggests he has any expertise outside of an ability to advance his own career.

As for Maddow, she and her colleagues know what side their bread is buttered on. That is why Pat Buchanan lasted so long at MSNBC, despite his racism and xenophobia and why MSNBC's "liberals" crossed picket lines, right along with Joe Scarborough.

Although, I kinda wish Rachel would decide that she has made enough money...I'm not saying the work she's doing isn't appreciated; it very much IS. But if she were to set herself free of the corporate needs of m$nbC, I think her intellect, exp. and energy would be welcomed greatly by those trying to rebuild a REAL Liberal "establishment" in America, instead of those who have decided that a Cheerleading Squad for the Democratic Party is sufficient.

Because it isn't.

people have to do things they don't necessarily choose in order to keep their jobs. And maybe they do even like and respect their MSNBC colleagues. It would not be the first time co-workers bonded.

During the Bush years, I was very grateful when MSNBC hired Olberman and I could hear a POV other than msm or FOX. I will always thank MSNBC for that because I was desperate. But, I don't watch MSNBC much anymore.

I yearn for a station that doesn't cheer for either side, but just tells me the truth about everything. I guess that is not in vogue any more. CNN could be that, but apparently has decided to be the laughingstocks with technology network instead. Not a business decision I understand, but what do I know?

For example, I don't believe that fluoride is put in our water as a mind-control plot, but I think adding it as an industrial waste-product does more harm than good, and there are business interests keeping that policy in place. I don't appreciate her over-the-top mocking of people with my opinion, but I agree with her on most other things.

I miss Keith. The only reason I ever began watching MSNBC was Donahue and then Keith. Rachel was tolerable for a short while. Lawrence looks like he's had about enough of Comcastistan. Everything else is just fluff.

They done fucked up when they let Keith go. He was their ratings leader and gave the whole network a personality. Now, they are just a mere shadow of the old MSNBC. They give Alan Greenspan's wife the featured daytime hour. What a worthless establishment lackie she is. Just as right-wing and clueless as her Ayn Rand sycophant husband.

Even from his seat at ESPN, Keith still knocks it out of the park whenever he feels inspired.

Keith nailed the Ray Rice story just the other day.

MSNBC should just fold up shop and become the corporate channel, just like CNBC.

She'd call him 'my Uncle Pat' and legitimize his hate as much as she could, a few times a week. Chuck Todd is a step up from Buchanan. Buchanan praises Hitler, lauds the days of segregation, wanted gay men put in camps. Rachel's Uncle Pat. That's who she is.

Somehow, we have been transported to a parallel universe where spewing complete bullshit on tv about the president, and then pretending they are seriously pursuing the truth of the situation has become the norm, not just some stupid crap that only used to be seen on the Faux Snooze channel.

Chuck Toad has spewed so much completely over-the-top crap over the last few years during the last 2 election cycles that nothing he said back then was anywhere close to anything that actually resembled what had happened here on the planet Earth.
Chuck Toad is the political director for MSNBC, so after his disastrous interview with President Obama on Sunday during his premiere on Meet the Press, they started trying to rehabilitate him immediately.

Charlie Rose had him on his show on PBS and interviewed him just this week, and most of what Chuck said then was just more of the same crap that he has said before about President Obama and the state of the world we live in.
Then Chuck went on the Today show during the week, and once again, pretended like what he had to say was the ultimate definitive answer to all questions political.

So yeah, the Twilight Zone reference is pretty accurate.
Chuck Toad is about as much of an "expert" on politics as Bob Costas is an expert on pole vaulting!
